As much as I love this fight I have 1 tiny critique but it’s personal. I just don’t love it when a villain that is basically unbeatable is defeated by an ability we haven’t seen before nor has been lead up to or built up. Sephiroth is nearly immortal and infallible in combat so beating him combatively should be much more complicated than…I use a move he doesn’t know. It’s not really like I have any fixes for this cause I still love the fight but narratively I feel like it could use just a bit of tweaking to be fully satisfying to me

I remember when one of the tv channels in my country aired the eng dub. I was a grade schooler and this movie introduced me to ff7 Good memories.

Always loved this fight. And Sephiroth has the upper hand almost the entire battle. I also love how Sephiroth remembers what defeated him previous times. The first time, he was caught off-guard by Cloud's strong will. The second time when it was just him and Cloud, Cloud used Omnislash, which Sephiroth hadn't seen before, therefore didn't know how to defend against it. And now this third time, Cloud uses Omnislash again, only this time Sephiroth was ready for it and countered it. But when Cloud uses a new version of Omnislash, Omnislash Version 5 as Dissidia calls it, Sephiroth is once again taken off-guard, not knowing how to defend against this attack. In other words, as long as Sephiroth knows all of what his opponent is capable of, he can't be beaten. So you'd absolutely have to show him something new to have a chance.

Ok what version is this?, I keep trying to find the movie where it shows Sephiroth's wing earlier and some other scenes but keep coming up empty.

Its weird how Sephiroth himself is only in maybe 5% of the game physically (anytime we see him, except in the flashback, the crater, and the final boss battle is JENOVA's illusions), and he is very much dead by this point (Jenova's illusion at work again), yet he's still always considered the main villain. Also gotta love how jenova and sephiroth were deemed planet-ending threats in FF7 and here the entire group just goes "nah, cloud got this, we can wait"
